Aimsun is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our Software Development team at Aimsun headquarters in central Barcelona. Our ideal candidate is strongly motivated to improve the quality of the software and experienced in software development and testing.

Your mission will be to streamline the whole product delivery process, taking care of all the release pipelines while working on our multi-platform deployment processes.

You will be encouraged to propose new technologies and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all the continuous integration and delivery tools (Git, Jenkins, …)
  • Define a fully automated release management process, including the branching model, handling of artefacts, automated testing, and deployment; this process will work all the way from development and testing up to client delivery.
  • Master the configuration management, creating and maintaining the proper level of automation for all product deployment.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation related to the release management process and related configurations.
  • Collaborate on building a better architecture for the whole product.

The Aimsun team of technologists, scientists and transportation engineers are dedicated to reimagining mobility: Aimsun solutions combine simulation, data and artificial intelligence to test emerging technologies, analyze transportation schemes, or manage transportation in real time. Our clients include governmental departments of transportation, engineering consulting firms, research institutions and developers of the latest technology in self-driving and connected vehicles.

Our Product Management team in Barcelona is looking for a Product Specialist, who will report directly to the Global Head of Product Management.

The Product Specialist role straddles various teams, so the ideal candidate will need to work from these four key perspectives:

  • Modeling and algorithms
  • Software and associated technologies
  • Traffic engineering, management and control as well as transportation planning
  • Marketing

Reporting

The position reports directly to the Global Head of Product Management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as a regional point of contact for incoming questions about the products, mainly for product and service delivery tenders
  • Provide internal technical support to the Business Development team for product presentations (in-person/remote) and trade shows
  • Gather user needs and issues related to use of the products both internally (from the local Professional Services Coordinator) and externally (from calls, meetings with clients, exhibitions)
  • Work with the marketing team to develop presentations, videos and other promotional material
  • Adapt training materials to reflect the intended use of the latest version of the products
  • Conduct training courses
  • Train and present new functionalities to other departments
  • Work with QA to identify new test cases that improve the robustness of the products

Requirements

  • Be prepared to gain excellent knowledge of as many aspects of Aimsun tools as possible: applications, micro, meso, macro, hybrid, data preparation, calibration, outputs, API, signal control, pedestrians, additional modules, etc. This means that you'll need to know what Aimsun does and how it does it, including transportation models and algorithms
  • Demonstrate excellent client-facing skills and be able to describe the products in a positive but truthful light
  • Be able to handle tough technical questions

We are seeking a Scientific Research Engineer in European funded projects, reporting to the Head of Research Projects. The candidate will be responsible for the overall technical lead and management support of research funded projects in transport and traffic domain and / or will also actively contribute to the preparation of other project proposals.

Main responsibilities

Work in a team environment to deliver Aimsun R&D to project funding bodies in a timely and resource-efficient manner, including but not limited to:

  • Performing R&D activities, through simulation using Aimsun software, and undertaking study design, analysis and some software coding where appropriate,
  • Develop and review project-based reports, specifications and publications (both conference and journal)
  • Represent Aimsun and present project work at face to face project meetings, conferences and industry forums
  • Contribute to, and where needed lead, Aimsun involvement in bids for (primarily but not exclusively) EU R&D Projects
  • Contribute to the knowledge base of the group and take an active interest in the development of the software and underlying theories.
