‘Short-term traffic forecasts to help TfL combat capital’s jams’

Transport for London is to procure an automated predictive signalling system that adjusts traffic signal timings in response to short-term forecasts of traffic conditions.
The system will predict likely congestion and then take active
steps to prevent it occurring, or minimise its effect, Alan Bristow, TfL’s director of road space management, told members of TfL’s finance and policy committee.
