Aimsun named approved supplier on CCS Transport Technology Framework

This approval enables UK public authorities to access proven transport digital twin technology faster, simpler, and with full procurement compliance.

Aimsun has been named as an approved transport technology supplier on the Crown Commercial Service’s RM6347 Transport Technology framework, under Lot 7c: Systems and Platforms, Transport Network Management. This framework provides a compliant, streamlined route for UK public sector organisations to procure transport technology solutions from accredited suppliers.

Lot 7c covers digital systems and platforms used to manage and operate transport networks in real-world conditions. In practice, this includes tools that support traffic monitoring, congestion management, incident response and informed decision-making across road and transport networks. Approval under this lot confirms that Aimsun’s technology meets the technical, operational and security requirements needed for deployment at regional and national scale.
Replacing the previous Transport Technology and Associated Services agreement, the new framework has been designed to make it easier for organizations across central and local government, as well as the wider public sector, to procure modern, sustainable transport technologies aligned with national mobility and environmental objectives.

What this means when working with an approved supplier

For public authorities and transport operators, the framework represents a more efficient way to access trusted solutions. Previously, procuring digital traffic management and modelling technologies often required lengthy tender processes and complex evaluations. Under the new framework, organisations can work directly with pre-approved suppliers such as Aimsun, reducing administrative effort while remaining fully compliant with public procurement rules.

By removing unnecessary complexity from procurement, authorities can focus on what matters most: improving network performance, responding to incidents more effectively and delivering better outcomes for road users and communities.

From procurement to real-world impact

Through this route to market, authorities can access Aimsun Live, Aimsun’s traffic Digital Twin platform that

supports automated decision-making for real-time network operations and incident management. Rather than relying solely on reactive measures, transport teams can use predictive insights to anticipate disruption, test responses and implement proven strategies faster.

This capability is already delivering measurable results. Aimsun’s Digital Twin technology is helping UK regions improve transport performance, including through the Tees Valley Traffic Digital Twin,, where monitoring and evaluation results report a 14 percent reduction in delays.

Faster access, greater flexibility

In addition to simplifying procurement, the framework offers greater flexibility in how solutions are commissioned. Public bodies can choose between competitive selection or direct award without competition, depending on their specific needs, timelines and project scope. This approach supports faster delivery while maintaining transparency and value for money.

James Daniels, Market Director of Aimsun Europe, said: “Our appointment to Lot 7c reflects Aimsun’s commitment to helping UK authorities manage their networks more efficiently. With our Digital Twin technology, operators can act on trusted real‑time insights to improve reliability, cut congestion and support more sustainable mobility.”
