Digital mobility storytelling for clearer transport decisions

Aimsun and Pixonal announced a technology partnership focused on digital storytelling for mobility, helping transport leaders convert complex data into clear, decision‑ready narratives.

The first showcase happened on the Aimsun stand at Intertraffic, where Aimsun was co‑exhibiting with Yunex Traffic, from 10th to 13th March 2026.

Bringing together mobility modeling, analytics and decision intelligence

The partnership combines Aimsun’s modelling, analytics and digital twin capabilities with Pixonal’s decision interface, Llumen. This brings together trusted real‑world mobility data and predictive insights from simulation and AI into one coherent view.

By presenting complex mobility intelligence through intuitive visual narratives, organizations can more easily brief stakeholders, align priorities and move from analysis to action with confidence.

Award‑winning expertise in mobility data storytelling

Pixonal is an award‑winning design and technology company specialising in data storytelling and decision intelligence platforms. Together with Abu Dhabi Mobility and Aimsun, Pixonal helped develop the Fusion AI mobility analytics platform  (pictured below), part of the STEAM+ framework, a pioneering initiative that integrates large‑scale mobility data with advanced analytics and modelling.

The project has received multiple international awards, including six Red Dot Design Awards, recognising its ability to transform complex, multi‑source datasets into intuitive decision‑making experiences.

Leadership perspectives

“Aimsun’s digital mobility platform enables our users to curate and generate a vast amount of network intelligence, from understanding historical performance to maintaining real‑time situational awareness and exploring multi‑horizon predictions,” said Ian McCarthy, CEO of Aimsun.

“Through this partnership, we are enabling organisations to democratise access to that intelligence across their teams. By helping users weave network insights into clear, compelling narratives, we can support better engagement with stakeholders, more effective communication and ultimately the delivery of their mobility vision.”

“Aimsun has long set the standard for mobility modelling and analytics across the world’s most complex transport networks,” said Mohamed Said, Chief Product Officer at Pixonal. “By integrating Llumen into the Aimsun ecosystem, we are helping bring these insights into a clear operational and storytelling layer, allowing agencies to explore scenarios, communicate outcomes, and align decisions with confidence.”
