International Symposium on Enhancing Highway Performance (ISEHP)

Berlin, Germany

Annique Lenorzer will be presenting ‘Simulation of rural highways with Aimsun’ as part of the Rural Roads Workshop (Friday June 17th 9:00 AM–3:00 PM), which aims to present the latest research results in 2-lane highways in the Highway Capacity Manual context, the latest practice in 2+1 highways in Europe, and current simulation tools for rural highways.

Karen Giese will also be attending this joint international symposium, which is organized by TRB committees AHB40 / AHB20 and FGSV (the German Road and Transportation Research Association), to form the 7th International Symposium on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service and the 3rd International Symposium on Freeway and Tollway Operations.

Program: International Symposium on Enhancing Highway Performance (ISEHP)

Two-way modelling for rural roads: This model captures the complexity of the overtaking manoeuvre and interaction with oncoming traffic, including the decision and execution processes. Use the Two-way feature to assess the safety or operational impacts of an overtaking zone for different traffic levels and compositions.
