Transport Modeller / Project Manager, Abu Dhabi

Location: Partially based in the Aimsun office in Abu-Dhabi, combined with remote working and the option of flexible hours.

 

Due to a rapidly expanding workload in the Middle East, Aimsun are seeking Transport Modellers at all levels, to be based in our new office in Abu Dhabi. If you are looking for a new challenge in a rapidly expanding and dynamic, digital solutions company, please get in touch.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Active Project Management of Modelling and Solutions projects across the Aimsun portfolio. Align project delivery and performance with Aimsun’s Project Management processes.
  • Support with the delivery of a wide range of transport modelling tasks on projects undertaken using Aimsun Next (for a range of private and public sector clients).
  • Undertake transport model development with tasks including but not limited to model building, calibration/validation, model testing and auditing, checking and analysis of model outputs.
  • Undertake client Support (as required) for Aimsun Next Licence Holders.
  • Assist in the delivery of Aimsun Live/Solutions projects working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team. As part of your role, you may be asked to provide first-line support on Live/Solutions Projects.
  • Interpretation of data and information, including preparation of technical reports and proposals for clients
  • Develop and foster strong client relationships, to ensure effective project delivery and future work winning.
  • Support junior team members and assist them to develop their technical skills/potential (opportunity to Line Manage junior staff)
  • Comply with Aimsun’s policies, processes, guidelines, and procedures relevant to your role and workplace.

 

Must-haves

 

  • Relevant Degree (or equivalent), in an associated discipline. (e.g. Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Sciences, Data Science/Computing)
  • Coding/programming skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Including presentation skills)
  • Project Management Experience
  • Experience with Aimsun Next transport modelling software (and/or other modelling software)
  • Right of work in UAE and across the Middle East

Lead Project Manager - Digital Mobility Solutions, Abu-Dhabi

Location: Based in our Abu-Dhabi office and/or co-located with our key clients (as required), combined with remote working and the option of flexible hours.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead Aimsun’s Professional Services team in the Middle East. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Lead Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of our project portfolio across the region. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with proven Middle East project delivery experience, in the transport industry. Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Regional MD and Regional Head of Business Development to deliver against regional targets and goals.
  • Manage the Professional Services team in region, to optimise resources and project delivery in a timely and effective manner. Work with other global leads to effectively share resources globally.
  • Manage the portfolio of projects in the region and fulfill Project Manager/Project Director roles across a wide range of multi-disciplinary digital solutions projects.
  • Develop and foster strong client relationships (through project delivery), to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure that all proposals and projects undertaken in your region follow Aimsun’s Project/Quality Management processes and meet technical and commercial expectations.
  • Ensure that all projects delivered in the region adhere to client project control requirements and contractual obligations
  • To lead and develop the staff in your team to help them meet their goals/achievements. Work with the Global Head of Professional Service and line managers within your team, to identify staff training needs and to assist in staff recruitment.

Must-haves

  • Proven Middle East Project Delivery Experience (within the transport industry)

Transport Modeller Intern, Paris

Location: Based in the Aimsun office in Paris.

Aimsun is looking for a Transport Modeller Intern to support new projects located in France. Under the direction of the Regional Head of Professional Services, the Intern will be involved in transport modelling projects (static and dynamic and will participate in the definition and monitoring of projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Support with the delivery of a wide range of transport modelling tasks on projects undertaken using Aimsun Next (for a range of private and public sector clients)
  • Undertake transport model development with tasks including model building, calibration/ validation, model testing and auditing, checking and analysis of model outputs
  • Assist in the delivery of Aimsun Live/Solutions projects working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team

Skills required:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Autonomous and rigorous, attention to detail
  • Excellent written communication skills in French and English

Must-haves:

  • Knowledge of urban transport issues (traffic demand, traffic lights, end users demand)
  • Knowledge of Python and/or C++
  • Student of a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transport Engineering at a French University or Engineering School
Transport Modeller, Barcelona

Location: Partially based in the Aimsun office in Barcelona, combined with remote working and the option of flexible hours.

 

Our Professional Services team in Barcelona seeks experienced transport modelling professionals for a full-time position. You’ll be supporting and delivering some of the industry’s most innovative and dynamic projects. This role involves supporting and enhancing an industry-leading software by developing an in-depth understanding of the tool and applying your analytical and innovative skills.

 

Responsibilities for Associate Transport Modeller:

  • Support with the delivery of a wide range of transport modelling tasks on projects undertaken using Aimsun Next (for a range of private and public sector clients).
  • Undertake transport model development with tasks including but not limited to model building, calibration/validation, model testing and auditing, checking and analysis of model outputs.
  • Assist in the delivery of Aimsun Live/Solutions projects working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team. As part of your role, you may be asked to provide first-line support on Live/Solutions Projects.
  • Interpretation of data and information, including preparation of technical reports and proposals for clients
  • Work with your line manager to ensure that you are receiving the appropriate training and skills development.

Responsibilities for Transport Modeller:

  • Work in a team environment to deliver Aimsun models and services to public and private clients in a timely and resource-efficient manner
  • Work in a cross-functional collaborative environment to scope and deploy Aimsun Live decision support systems for major cities and/or highway corridors
  • Using analytical approach, assess and provide input into and administer quality management processes
  • Develop and review project-based reports and technical specification documentation
  • Provide support to Aimsun users both locally and globally

 

Must-Haves:

 

  • Relevant Degree (or equivalent), in an associated discipline. (e.g. Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Silences, Data Science/Computing)
  • Coding/programming skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • 1-2 years of experience in traffic modelling and/or transport planning
  • EU citizenship or Spanish work permit

Nice-to-Haves:

  • 4-6 years of experience in traffic modelling and/or transport planning
  • Experience with Aimsun Next transport modelling software (and/or other modelling software)
  • Project management
  • Other language skills, including French, Spanish, German, Chinese
