Paul Marsh reports on UK efforts to minimise the contribution of road traffic to air pollution, particularly the dangerous levels of nitrogen dioxide. The projects include uTRAQ (Urban Traffic Management and Air Quality), a European Space Agency demonstration project, which is being led by TRL, and which uses Aimsun traffic modelling software.
