The Data Translators provide functions such as - Import Saturn Networks
- Import/Export EMME/2 Networks
- Import CUBE Networks (using the GIS interface)
- CAD Support: DWG and DWF
- GIS Interface
- Shape files (GIS de facto standard)
- Creates
Network geometry automatically when the additional necessary
information is available (i.e. number of lanes per section, flow
directions, turnings at intersections…)
- Historical & Real time Detector Data
- Import control plans (TRANSYT, Synchro, VS-Plus, Utopia and SCATS)
All this means that: - The user can automatically recover other models
- AIMSUN-EMME/2,
a combination that provides the top functionalities for any traffic
study or service, from a demand study to a one-hour traffic forecast
- Reliable traffic signal optimization with TRANSYT without having to exit AIMSUN NG
- The
user can import Synchro control plans into AIMSUN; both the timing of
each phase and, in case of actuated settings, the parameters of each
intersection
- There are no limits to the level of practical
harmony between a model and reality: adaptive control may also be
modelled, and the SCATS and UTOPIA interfaces offer two immediate
options for those two possibilities. After the signal control system
has been evaluated with AIMSUN it is then very easy to switch directly
from the simulation environment to the real world.
- A network
can be exported via the GIS interface into a Shapefile, a
standard format that can be imported by most Geographic Information
Systems, including ArcInfo, ArcView and MapInfo.
Just as a final detail and for users of AIMSUN/GETRAM, AIMSUN NG: - Imports GETRAM Networks
- Supports GETRAM Extensions (AIMSUN API)
- Adapts GETRAM Interfaces
