May should be a very nice and entertaining month for you: we are happy to announce the forthcoming AIMSUN User Group Meeting, to which all AIMSUN users and interested professionals are welcome.

There will be two other complementary events before and after the meeting: the three days before will be dedicated to a basic training course in Barcelona while the two days afterwards to an advanced one.

The users meeting (Thursday 11th - Friday 12th May) will take place at Sitges, a very nice seaside village about 30km south from Barcelona that was discovered by industrial bourgeoisie during the 19th century.

The meeting will show the current state, future trends and worldwide uses of the AIMSUN NG simulation environment, and it will also provide a forum in which AIMSUN NG users with different backgrounds can exchange their experiences in traffic simulation and also inform TSS about the features they would like to see in upcoming versions of AIMSUN NG.

And transport professionals should like very much the weekend unique event in Barcelona: the F1 Grand Prix! An advice: if you plan to go then buy your entrance ticket straight away because most of the tickets have been already sold.

Programme

On Thursday morning, first thing, TSS will present AIMSUN NG's main capabilities and advantages, its line of development and where that development is leading. The rest of the morning and first part of the afternoon will be dedicated to users' presentations, plus lunch and coffee breaks, no fear about that. The last activity will be a round table discussion about AIMSUN's present features, its use for projects, the most frequent or cumbersome problems/tasks during projects and, related to those issues, the desirable characteristics for future versions.

On Friday morning TSS will present a brief overview of the very many different types of project carried out by AIMSUN users all over the world, and illustrate such possibilities with a few of TSS' latest projects. The rest of the program will be the same as that on Thursday: users' presentations and a final round table discussion during which conclusions will be reached for all the open themes.

A detailed program for the meeting will be announced soon, and the final programme will be released in the third week of April.
