Standard requirements
The recommended requirements to run Aimsun 6 for medium/standard size networks are:
Windows® version
- Windows® XP/Vista/7 (32- and 64-bit versions), Windows Server 2003/2008 R2 (32- and 64-bit versions)
- Intel® or AMD® CPUs (32- and 64-bit versions). To take advantage of multi-threading, the computer must have more than one CPU and/or be of multi-core type
- 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
- 200 MB of hard disk capacity
- Colour monitor with resolution of at least 1024x768
- CD-ROM drive
- 1 USB slot
- Microsoft Windows®-compliant pointing device. Two-button mouse with scroll wheel is recommended
- Nvidia or ATI Graphics card with OpenGL 1.5 hardware acceleration and 64 MB of video RAM.
Integrated Intel Graphics cards are not recommended.
Aimsun users are advised to install all Windows® updates and the latest graphics card drivers.
Mac OS X® version
- Mac OS X® 10.5 (Leopard®) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard®)
- Intel® CPUs (32- and 64-bit versions). To take advantage of multi-threading, the computer must have more than one CPU and/or be of multi-core type
- 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
- 200 MB of hard disk capacity
- Colour monitor with resolution of at least 1024x768
- CD-ROM drive
- 1 USB slot
- Mac OS X®-compliant pointing device. Two-button mouse with scroll wheel is recommended

- Colour monitor with resolution of at least 1024x768

Additional Requirements for High-End Applications
The following additional requirements apply when using Aimsun 6 for high-end applications:
Intensive 3D Visualisation
- 2 GB of RAM (4 GB highly recommended)
- High-end graphics card
- 1-20 GB of additional hard disk capacity
- Colour monitor with screen size of at least 19?? and resolution of at least 1440x900
- Nvidia or ATI workstation class graphics card with OpenGL 2.0 support and at least 128MB of RAM
- A 3D modelling and visualisation application such as Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Autodesk® Maya®, Google SketchUp Pro etc
- A video editing application such as Camtasia Studio, Adobe Premier etc
Online Simulation or Offline Simulation of Very Large Networks
- 2xQuad-Core CPUs, 4xDual-Core CPUs or 4xQuad-Core CPUs
- 4 GB of RAM
- Support for 1 Gbit data exchange
- Windows Server 2003 R2 with SP2 64-bit Standard recommended
